Privacy Policy

We recognize that you should have the right to know what data we collect about you, how the data we collect is used and what controls you have over that data. We are in the business of operating, administering, and providing market research to help consumers receive value back when they shop and to help brands and retailers better understand consumer behaviour. This Privacy Policy applies to the products, services, websites and mobile applications offered by IMRB International and its Group Companies. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Please refer to the ‘Key Terms’ section below which sets out the definitions for capitalized terms that are used in this Privacy Policy.

What information do we collect?

We may collect the following types of information:

Information you provide

We receive and store the information you enter on our websites or mobile applications or you otherwise provide us in any other way.

Information from cookies

When you visit one of our websites or click on a banner advertisement on a third party’s website, we may send one or more cookies to your computer or other device from which you accessed the website or advertisement. Third parties may also share information with us (such as the fact that you have been shown a particular advertisement) based on cookies that they send to your computer or other device when you visit other websites. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some of our website features or services may not function properly without cookies.

Log and other information

When you access one of our websites, emails, advertisements, or other content served by or on behalf of us on third party websites or mobile applications, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends during your access to that content. These server logs typically include your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or Account(s) to us. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements including the fact you have been shown certain advertisements, and the Advertising ID (or Advertising Identifier) of your device may also be included in our server logs. During some visits to our websites we may use software tools such as JavaScript to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.

Google, Yahoo!, and Outlook

Prospect may request permission to link with your Google, Yahoo, and/or Outlook account. If you grant the application permission to access your Google, Yahoo, and/or Outlook account, we will collect information from your profile regarding purchase behaviour.

Your emails

The Prospect application may request permission to obtain read-only access to your email account. If you grant the application permission to access your email account, we will have ‘read only’ access to your emails (including their content) and will automatically collect information from your emails about purchase transactions including receipts, details of what was purchased, the merchant from which the goods/services were purchased, the amount spent and the date of purchase. We will do this by searching for specific search terms (such as names of known merchants) in your emails. Granting us access to your emails will enable us to collect more information about your purchases and allow you to earn more Rewards, but you do not have to grant us this access in order to use our service. You should grant us this access only if you are comfortable with us having access to your emails. You can also revoke our access to your email account at any time by revoking Prospect in the Settings feature of your respective Google, Yahoo!, or Outlook account.

Surveys

The Prospect application may request permission to send you emails containing links to surveys in which we would like you to participate, and may also present you with surveys within the application itself. If you participate in these surveys, we will collect your answers to the surveys.

Third parties

We may receive information about you from third party companies that specialize in collecting publicly available information. This may include estimated demographic information. We may link information about you that we collect from these third parties with other information that we collect about you.

Contests, sweepstakes and surveys

We may promote or offer contests, sweepstakes, similar promotional offers or surveys that may be co-sponsored by us and one or more other companies, or may be sponsored by other companies. Some or all of your information collected through these offers or surveys may be shared with the sponsor(s) or other companies indicated on the entry form, in the governing rules or on the survey, as applicable.

Agents and service providers

We engage other companies and individuals to perform certain services and functions on our behalf. For example, we may engage third parties to send email and analyse data, provide search results and links (including paid listings and links), and provide customer service. These service providers are allowed to access and use the information we make available to them only as needed to perform their functions and for no other purposes.

Business transfers

If there is a change of control in our business (whether by merger, sale, or otherwise), your information could be included as part of that transaction and could be used by the purchaser within the same business or more widely within the purchaser’s own business.

Protection of IMRB International and others

We may disclose information about you to third parties when we believe such disclosure is appropriate to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena or search warrant, or in the course of a legal proceeding. We may also disclose your information as we believe appropriate to enforce or apply our rights under our agreements with Registered Users, or to protect the rights, property or safety of IMRB International, its Group Companies, our Registered Users and others, including exchanging information for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

In addition, any Group Companies or third parties to whom your information is provided (as described in this Privacy Policy) may be located in any jurisdiction in the world. These jurisdictions (including India) may not provide the same level of protection for your information as the country in which you reside. By signing up for an Account or using the Prospect service, you agree that we may store, process and transfer your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
